Peter Turner

Senior Associate, Litigation

Peter is in our Litigation pillar, and specialises in all aspects of Lower and Superior Court work, and has expertise in Labour, Contract, Administrative and Constitutional law.

Peter joined DML in February 2018, and practises as a Senior Associate. He obtained his LLB and LLM from the University of Kwazulu-Natal, and completed his articles and practised in Durban with firms; Du Toit, Havemann & Lloyd Attorneys and Easton-Berry Inc, before moving to Cape Town to join DML.

He specialises in both High Court and Magistrates’ Court litigation, as well as litigation in all labour and employment courts and tribunals. Peter also heads up our labour and employment law practice.

Peter has represented and advised large corporate entities, including JSE-listed companies, operating in, amongst others, the fitness, technology, manufacturing and medical sectors, as well as national sporting federations, in the resolution of labour and employment disputes, including those relating to unfair dismissals, retrenchments, unfair discrimination and the enforcement of restraint of trade agreements.

In his spare time, Peter enjoys reading and playing at being an amateur guitarist and singer-songwriter. He is also a keen runner and enjoys spending time with his young family.

Member of SASLAW (South African Society for Labour Law)
