Tshiamo Monyai
Candidate Attorney
Tshiamo joined DML in 2023 as a Candidate Attorney in his first year. He predominantly works in the Litigation pillar where he is gaining extensive experience in all areas of Corporate and Commercial Litigation.
Tshiamo is dependable, enthusiastic, and teachable. He is interested in research, innovation, and the legalities of the Technology and Intellectual Property Law landscape, and he is particularly energised by engaging with people and clients and making the law more accessible.
Background
After completing his Bachelor of Social Science and LLB at the University of Cape Town in 2019 and 2021 respectively, Tshiamo took a gap year to work with the Parliamentary Monitoring Group. He was entrusted with matters such as sensitive investigations, critical legislation, and matters relating to government policy.
During his years at law school, Tshiamo volunteered for organisations such as LAWCO, CLASI, and SLSJ and was an officer on tribunals such as the UCT Student Governance Court and the Woolsack Residence Disciplinary Committee.
Tshiamo is a firm believer in living a wholistic life, and when he is not focused on his professional development, he enjoys spending his time with friends and family, keeping fit, and exploring the great outdoors.
