Zama Zakuza
Candidate Attorney
Zama Zakuza joined the DML team in July 2026 as a legal intern. Her determination, hard work and interest in litigation lead to her progression to a candidate attorney.
Her curiosity for the legal profession was first sparked at the age of ten, when she watched the legal dramas on television. This led to her pursing an LLB degree at the University of Johannesburg. During her studies, she actively developed her interest by taking part in moot court and being a member of BLASC, a law society. Alongside her legal studies, Zama was actively involved in community engagement and Campus Outreach, where she mentored students and contributed to the leadership of the society, this experience has strengthened her ability to build meaningful relationships and communicate effectively.
She further gained practical legal experience while working at the University of Johannesburg law clinic as a student legal Advisor. Through working directly with clients, assisting in legal drafting and conducting legal research, she gained insight into the application of the law. It was during this experience that her interest in litigation developed.
Zama brings enthusiasm, professionalism and an intense commitment to her work. She is eager to grow her experience in litigation while making a meaningful impact in the firm.
Outside the office, Zama prioritises rest and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
